Life sentence for Nongoma rapist
The Nongoma Regional Court handed a life sentence to a 35-year-old Nongoma man on Tuesday for repeatedly raping a nine year-old girl, police said on Wednesday. “The Nongoma Regional Court gave Sipho Mtshali a life sentence for raping a nine year old girl,” said Lieutenant Colonel Thembeka Mbele.
She said Mtshali had claimed that he was in love with the girl when he was arrested.
“The girl was raped several times in a bush in 2008 and Mtshali was arrested in December 2008 after the girl had alerted her parents,” she said. - Sapa
